A little about me
Designer at Capital One • DC Born, Pittsburgh Raised
Hi, I’m Emily! I’m passionate about people, creating work with high impact, and experiencing what the world has to offer.
I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2018, receiving a Bachelor of Design (BDes) with a focus in Communication Design, a minor in Global Systems and Management (GSM), and a concentration in Psychology. I had the opportunity to study human-centered design and interaction design while taking studios and electives focused on visual communication. To complement that, I took classes outside of the School of Design that combined my interests in learning about culture, business strategy and interdisciplinary collaboration.
I’ve been drawing since I was five years old and I knew I would grow up and do something creative. As a designer, I love to solve problems and I’m always up for a challenge. I care a lot about people, and I’m enthusiastic about finding ways to help them through design and on a personal level.
When I’m not designing, I’m spending time with my family and friends, looking for the next great coffee shop or restaurant, or checking out an exhibit.
